Troubling Facts About Boys
- The United States today has more boys and young men locked up in juvenile institutions, jails, prisons, and mental hospitals than any other nation on earth.
- Annually about three million boys are put on drugs like Ritalin and Prozac to control their school behavior.
- Boys compromise 71% of all school suspensions and are expelled at even higher rates.
- Boys dropped out of school 4 to 1 over girls.
- The majority of school violence victims are Males who represent about three-fourths all assaults homicides and suicides.
- Males are the majority of the homeless; HIV positives; physically abused, neglected, and murdered children; foster kids awaiting adoption; alcoholics and drug addicts in need of treatment.
Fatherless Children
- 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes. (U.S. D.H.H.S., Bureau of the Census)
- 75% of adolescent patient’s in chemical abuse centers come from fatherless homes. (Rainbows for all God’s Children)
- 70% of juveniles in state operated institutions have no father.

Children from a fatherless home are:
- 5 times more likely to commit suicide
- 32 times more likely to run away
- 20 times more likely to have behavioral disorders
- 9 times more likely to drop out of school
- 10 times more likely for substance abuse
- 9 times more likely to end up in a state operated institution
- 20 times more likely to end up in prison
